Recommendations of October 2006 Meeting of WG3

1. FCD 13250-1: Topic Maps -- Introduction and Basic Concepts

WG3 instructs the Editors to prepare a new draft based on discussions at previous meeting for circulation to members of WG3.

2. FDIS 13250-2: Topic Maps -- Data Model

13250-2 was published by ISO dated on August 15, 2006

3. FDIS 13250-3: Topic Maps -- XML Syntax

13250-3 is now in three months FDIS ballot period.

4. FCD 13250-4: Topic Maps -- Canonical XML Syntax

WG3 instructs the Editors to respond to National Body comments in N615, and to incorporate the decisions taken at the Amsterdam meeting into a new draft and submit the document for a new FCD ballot.

5. WD 13250-5: Topic Maps -- Reference Model

The Editors are instructed to incorporate the comments on the CD ballot into a new CD and circulate it to members of WG3.

6. WD 13250-6 Topic Maps -- Compact Syntax

The Editors are instructed to incorporate the decisions taken at the Leipzig meeting into a new working draft and circulate it to members of WG3.

7. WD 13250-7 Topic Maps -- Graphical Notation

The Editors are instructed to incorporate the decisions taken at the Leipzig meeting into a new working draft and circulate it to members of WG3. The Editors are also requested to prepare the requirement of Graphical Notation.

8. CD 18048 Topic Maps -- Query Language

WG3 instructs the Editors to incorporate the comments on the CD ballot into a new CD and circulate it to members of WG3.

9. CD 19756 Topic Maps -- Constraint Language

WG3 instructs the Editors to incorporate the decisions taken at the Leipzig meeting into a new CD and circulate it to members of WG3.

10. Dublin Core Metadata

The Editors are instructed to incorporate the decisions taken at the Leipzig meeting into a initial working draft and circulate it to members of WG3.

11. Repositories for Published Subjects

WG3 instructs the convenor of WG3 to initiate a joint activity with the W3C and OASIS to codify and disseminate the principles of Published Subjects, originally developed as part of ISO 13250 (under the name Public Subjects) and further refined by the OASIS Published Subject TC.

WG3 further requests that Prof. Sam Oh prepare a draft proposal for a distributed repository mechanism for Published Subjects with a view to a possible Technical Report.
